My name is Edie and I have been an Employment and Career Consultant since September of 1998. I am also been the manager of the Employment Assistance Services and have experienced a great time with my co-workers as we shared and learned together.
I truly enjoy working with people, gaining and sharing knowledge with them, helping them understand the world of work and seeing them experience those ah-ha moments.
My greatest reward is being able to share a small part of someone’s employment success whether it is with a client who found work, or ,with an employer who hired one of the people we referred to them.
Since PESL’s inception, I have had the privilege of watching the company grow both in programs and in the great staff we have working for us. Their expertise and dedication have made PESL a great place to work. We look forward to meeting you.
Robin Work
I am now in my 10th year with PESL and have had the pleasure of watching the company grow from a staff of 3 to the incredible team we have today. I am proud of the people who provide services from each of our locations across Northern British Columbia. While the area we cover is diverse, we are all united by a common purpose – to help people achieve their goal of employment. I have had the good fortune of working in this industry for 19 years, and that desire to make a difference hasn’t changed. As General Manager I’m focused on making sure our team is strong, united, and effective. Thankfully, the PESL staff makes that job easy.

I enjoy many aspects of my job. Helping someone with a résumé and seeing it produce positive results is satisfying. Exploring career options with someone is invigorating. Assisting clients with goal setting and helping them attain those goals is rewarding. Best of all is seeing that smile on someone’s face when their effort has resulted in a job.

In my time here at Progressive Employment I have enjoyed working and building relationships with clients' and co-workers alike. I believe in a client centered approach every client and situation is different but at the end of the day we are all working for what is best for the client.
I enjoy sharing in my clients successes and future successes. A great person once said to fail is to quit trying. In my life I have learned this: If you get knocked down get up and try again! This is why I enjoy my job so much I get to be part of my clients' success stories!

My name is Karen Seeley and I started with Progressive Employment Services as the Targeted Wage Subsidies program Coordinator in early April 2009. My previous work experience was with Kopar Administration, a company that also provided very similar services and I am confident that my experience, knowledge and the relationships that I have established will assist me in my current position with Progressive. My office is based in Terrace, however I am responsible the Northwest area, including Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Hazelton and Haida Gwaii. The aspects of this position that I enjoy the most are being able to assist individuals in finding sustainable long term employment in their desired field of choice. I graduated from the University of Victoria and started working at a youth centre in Quesnel B.C.. Soon after that I became the Youth Wage Subsidy Coordinator and really enjoyed that experience. I have been with Progressive Employment Services for two years and am having the time of my life. I really enjoy travelling and although this may sound biased I really do think I have the best area. Working as the TWS Coordinator provides me with new challenges and surprises on a daily basis and there is rarely a dull moment. We are all aware of the roller coaster ride when looking for work, so I take pride in offering a supportive and fun environment and have been a part of many successes along the way.
Jody Hicks
I am Jody Hicks and I have the great job of being the TWS Coordinator for the Peace - Liard Region.
There are several things that I truly appreciate about my job, the first are the wonderful EAS Counsellors in my Region, from Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Fort Nelson. They are friendly, helpful, and make my understanding of their regions, and how I can best help much easier.
The clients are a diverse group of different ages, ethnicities, and work requirements. They are a pleasure to work with.
It took some time and footwork / phone work to get the word out to the employers, but now more and more are interested in the TWS Program, understanding that PESL is here as a resource to help them find good workers.
